About Ayurveda

Ayurveda’s emphasis on cultivating a balanced state for mind, body and spirit through diet and lifestyle changes makes it an accessible practice for anyone wanting to improve their well-being. This living body of wisdom, which dates back at least 5000 years in India, uses many different modalities for healing, including food as medicine, lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, bodywork and extensive detoxification practices. In a time where stress, disease, and over-medication are rampant, along with increasing rates of loneliness, depression, and unhappiness, Ayurveda offers relief by teaching us to slow down, come back inside, and reconnect to ourselves.

Who is Mādhya Way Ayurveda for?

Ayurveda is for anyone open to learning an age-old, holistic, mind-body method of healing. It is for people of any gender, age, race, orientation or socioeconomic background. What Ayurveda asks is that you are open, patient, and willing to put your well-being first.

Integrative Ayurveda

In Mādhya Way’s approach to Integrative Ayurveda, we learn the traditional foundations of Ayurveda from classical texts and apply this knowledge in a manner best suited to contemporary life. Some key principles of our Integrative Ayurveda philosophy include understanding trauma, using local and sustainable herbs, honoring social justice, making Ayurveda accessible, incorporating Yoga and Buddhist teachings, and rooting Ayurvedic teachings in compassion for self and others.
